I was diagnosed June 2017 at 47. I was very optimist & made it through 16 rounds of chemo, bilateral masectomy (PCR!) & 25 rad treatments, then full hysterectomy in August since I'm BRCA2. I know I made it through it all with my strong faith & will, but I'm now starting to get anxious about reccurance. I'd love to hear any encouragement from long term survivors.

I was diagnosed a little over a year ago too with similar stats. My doctors warned me to make sure I had a good support network and also tried out some of the support groups. They said the emotional toll often hits after the main treatments are over when you’re not seeing doctors regularly, not actively treating the cancer, and suddenly have time to reflect what happened and deal with the possibility of doing it all over again.

I thought I was doing well too, esp bc I know other cancer survivors who are doing well, but I do find myself worrying often about finding metastasis and coming to terms with a shorter lifespan which is heartbreaking thought when I look at my young kids.

There’s no easy fix. I find myself here a lot lately tho I was not a frequent visitor initially. I also plan to check out the local cancer support center.

    How are you doing today?
