Elective Revision After Exchange
Hello all. I have been a member of this forum for over four years and often refer back and check on how everyone is doing. I am glad this place exists :-)
I had a bilateral with reconstruction and implant exchange 4.5 yeas ago. I was more consumed with getting the right size rather than just trusting my doctor, that I ended up much bigger than I wanted. I went from a B to a D , wanting a C, and Have not been happy with them. I know they will never be the same, I am 5'3" 135 lbs, usually less but not lately lol and small frame and he gave me 535 or 560 ultra high mentor round implants. I had told him I like the projection of the TEs but that was because I knew implants do not project as much. He gave me what I asked for but it was hard to describe what I wanted and for 4.5 years I have been second guessing that conversation.
They are very dense and round looking and look like coconuts. One of them looks more natural from the side and the other one likes just like a coconut. From the front they look mound like. They are uncomfortable at times, such as laying on my side in bed.I posted pics in the picture forum awhile ago (the link I have is not working any longer) but would love some opinions. Part of me doesn't want to go through an elective surgery, but the other part of me has been wanting to do this since the day of my exchange so weighing the pros and cons. Maybe everyone feels this way?????
I also have random pain with them almost daily - behind the nipple, or the side or lower part of my boob, feels like muscle pain. Its tolerable but I sometimes think it is because the implant is too big for my body and pushing on my muscles. Have any of you encountered random pain through your breast well after the exchange? I am not sure if a revision will alleviate this.
Have any of you chosen to have a revision years later, due to wanting to go smaller, larger or for reasons that only had to do with you wanting a different shape or size? What was the outcome? Were you happy you had the revision or did you regret it?
I am struggling with this and want to get this done soon. I saw him today as I am going to get my nipples flattened since one of them is always erect and I can't go braless, but I didn't get a chance to talk to him about a full revision because he was behind and I brought it up but was afraid to ask more about it.I am making an apt for the nipple thing but really am considering a revision but want to hear from you guys based on your experience.
Thank you for your input!
Cathy
