Triple Positive Breast Cancer
I had lumpectomy in aug. removed and cancer did not enter lymph nodes. had port inserted. went for first treatment of chemo. adriamyin was being administered through syringe very slow. got pale and nausea setting in. the dr stopped. only had the cytoxin. haveto go through 4 cycles of this. next treatment they will use doxorubicin and Cytoxan. after that its paclitaxel(taxol) weekly for 12 weeks with Herceptin. then radiation and then some kind of pill. not much I find on the internet for triple positive. I know its an aggressive cancer. has anyone been diagnosed with triple postive? any feed back would be appreciated. also had anti nausea drugs and I have zoltran. the drugs didn't help with that red stuff. getting a patch behind the ear for sea sickness. they had given me that when getting port inserted. along with 4 different meds. didn't wake up nauseated.

Hi!
Many of us have been diagnosed with triple positive. I'm sorry you had problems with your first AC infusion. It's a tough regimen. Please visit us on the Triple Positive Thread. ((Hugs))

stopped the 4 cycles of the red med and going to go to taxol, perjeta and Herceptin.(this will be for a long period of time) today is the first dose and from what im reading some people experience a lot of different side effects. I really dont want to keep going through all this wondering each time about the side effects. anxiety level is high. they got the tumor out, didnt spread but they tell me their maybe cancer cells floating through out the body. im beginning to wonder going thru all this, will I feel another lump one day or maybe somewhere else another cancer? im so confused with all this even talking to all doctors, reading, etc.

I was stage 1, triple positive, no lymph node involvement. I had the 4 A/C treatments, the 12 Taxol, 4 Perjeta and 1 year on Herceptin, and am now on Arimidex (I was only 39 at diagnosis, but I was put into a medically induced menopause to protect my eggs so that I can try to have children in a couple of years and then return to the Arimidex after, so my MO thought Arimidex was a better option than Tamoxifen.). I had a double mastectomy even though I only had one small tumor in one breast and wanted to be as aggressive as possible with treatment because I want to do everything I possibly can’t to avoid a reoccurrence.

you went through a lot for a small tumor. that arimidex is what got me sick and I refused to take it anymore. then then doxorubincin is the same thing. so far two treatments with the taxol ,Herceptin and the perjeta every three treatments. so far so good. considering all this medicine its not a cure all. after 30 or so treatments of the Herceptin then they want to do radiation then some pill. (I heard from someone in the Babylon breast coalition and she stated that 6 months some feel is a better option then the year on the chemo. right now I have to also deal with a fallen bladder which is starting to bother me. when it rains it pours. so I may stop all chemo and get that attended to. so will need to think this all out. I wish you the best of luck beccafish with all you went through.
