Wellbutrin

Options

Hi all,

I just switched from Prozac to Wellbutrin bc Prozac seemingly plateaued and my anxiety is through the roof. Pros and cons? Side effects? I hate switching medication.

I started taking Wellbutrin several months after a dx of ADH that catapulted me into the high risk category. I think I pretty much fell into a major depressive episode and felt that I had to do something. I had never tsken nan antidepressant before, so I have nothing to compare with.

I’d say it took about a month and some fiddling around with the dosage before I started to feel better. I think it helped energize me (I couldn’t really focus to do anything). Not sure if it would be the first drug of choice for high anxiety, as it can leave you a bit jittery, especially in the beginning. I’ve got some insomnia going on, but I can’t say for sure it’s from the meds-could be because of any number of things. Advantages: no sexual side effects and I dropped some weight. It’s been about 7 years and I continue to take it, mostly because I’m frightened about what would’ve happen if I stopped
