How much time off for exchange surgery - How was the recovery?

Good morning all! I am scheduled for my exchange surgery on Monday!! I have a desk job and was wondering how long I would need to be out of work. My doctor told me I could go back when I felt like it so no set time off from him. I'm planning for 2 weeks out but hoping to get back at 1 week. Is this realistic?

Also, what can I expect as far as recovery? Painful? Any tips? If it makes a difference, my implants will be behind the muscle and I'm undecided about fat grafting at this point. Thoughts on fat grafting now vs later?

Thanks!!

I just had my exchange on Wednesday. No fat grafting. I barely feel it. If hadn't had the ooph I probably would be stopping pain meds.

Edit: mine were prepectoral. The recovery/pain with under the muscle may be different.

If it is just the exchange (no adjustments or corrections) you should be perfectly fine to go to work two days later. Assuming of course your work is not very physical (no heavy lifting involved.)

I had mine on Friday, was back to work on Monday.

    Best.

Thank you ladies! Will I need any special bras or anything like that? I wore sports bras after my double mastectomy so I'm assuming I can wear the same thing for this surgery. Also I would love to hear from someone who had behind the muscle implants.

I was prepec. Ex on Friday and I ushered at church on Sunday and went to work on Monday...total desk job, so took my time. TT

I had behind the pec exchange surgery September 28th!!

I was instructed to wear sports bra and I had an annoying breast wrap I had to wear for one month!

    Exchange surgery was a non-event until I developed a hematoma! But that’s a rarity-OUCH!

I took Torodol for maybe a day and then switched to Tylenol! I was probably feeling so well that I was moving too much post-op and lifting. Don’t do that! HA!

Curious why do you think you need fat-grafting now? I didn’t have any.

Congrats on your surgery and best of luck. Please let me know if you need anything else!
