Pain

Of course it's painful, but the painful sensations aren't always where I expect them to be. When I took off the bandages from the lumpectomy I was surprised to find the incision where it was, because that's not where it hurt. The pain has been throughout the whole breast. Same thing with the sentinel node biopsy; there's an incision in my armpit, but the pain is in the breast and surrounding area too. I guess it's just a lot of confused nerves and swelling and fluids trying to find new paths, but every little thing makes me uneasy lately. Is this normal for the days and weeks post-surgery?
