DCIS Diagnosis after Stage I Treatment

Hello everyone,
Today, I was shocked to receive a diagnosis of high grade DCIS just over 3.5 years after a diagnosis/treatment for Stage 1 triple positive. Next up will be a bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction in the next few weeks (going to get rid of both of them.) We don't have the complete pathology yet and hopefully they don't find IDC after surgery.
Was anyone diagnosed with DCIS a few years after initial IDC diagnosis? What happened? Thanks is advance.
