IBC as Secondary Cancer

Hello All,

I was wondering if anyone here has developed a secondary cancer as IBC? I’m concerned because my breast that does have 2 tumors being treated is very swollen and sore. You can tell the size difference when I’m wearing a bra with a loose shirt on. My shirts even sit differently on my right side. It seems to have gotten big out of nowhere. The skin has a perma-tan from radiation completed last year so I don’t know if it’s pink or red. My nipple is flat and didnt used to be that way before my lumpectomy last year. Could that be from surgery or IBC? The skin is slightly itchy, but we’ve found out I have skin mets in that breast now. Doctor just says it doesn’t change prognosis or treatment so I didn’t get much more information about the skin mets. I’m now reading about IBC and am concerned. I don’t see any orange peel like skin. Could this be from my tumors, skin mets or IBC? I’m also on Opdivo an Immunotherapy treatment. Has anyone had swelling associated with Immunotherapy? So many factors I could use some real life experience to help.

Thanks

How far out from surgery? Did you have radiation? What does your breast surgeon and oncologist think

1 1/2 years from surgery and almost a year from radiation completion. I haven’t said anything about IBC to onc yet. My last appointment with her was about the skin mets and in trying to find more information about that I came across IBC. I like to learn and do some research before I ask the onc. That way I can keep up with what she isn’t saying and ask about what she might not have mentioned. I’m just worried right now as IBC seems to be fitting for what I’m experiencing. Part of me says there’s no way I’ve developed a secondary cancer, but I can’t afford to not question it.
