Pappiloma Surgery and the "dreaded dent"

Hi all,

I had surgery under a general to remove multiple pappiloma from behind the nipple in my right breast. The incision was in a crescent shape right along the line where my breast skin meets my areola. The bruising, swelling, and such were not nearly as bad as the MRI guided biopsy I'd had to diagnose the pappiloma. The surgery and recovery went well and I continue to receive the "bingo diagnosis" (B9)

So now that the swelling has gone away and my skin has returned to it's normal color, I have developed a "dent" in my breast just on the outside of my areola. In addition I have an area of tough, thicker skin beneath the surgery area as well. When Iook down, it looks like someone took a bite out of my breast (which I guess is pretty much what happened.

My question is, does this dent generally fill in and does the thicker, tough area of skin beneath the dent ever soften up?

I was just sitting around and thinking about my breast after trying not to think about it for a few weeks. I had a "radial scar" removed in June. It was in my left breast above the nipple / areola. My breast still hurts off and on over 3 months later. I just took an Aleve painkiller. It's also itchy around the scar. The scar itself is also shrinking and pulling in. It was originally about 2 inches now it is shrinking up to an inch and a half. The surgical scar feels hard underneath. It's probably going to take a least a year or more for it to 'mature'. At first I was swollen and the indentation wasn't noticeable. Now it is more noticeable. I also have an abdominal scar from when I had surgery over 30 years ago, that scar still feels firm underneath. That one starts above my navel, goes around it and ends up at the pubic area. (I had a large dermoid which was benign removed). The final scar is dependent on how you heal I believe. I also had a second abdominal surgery via laparascope for another smaller dermoid on the other ovary. The stab scars from that one are tiny. I have a hard time finding them.

So yeah, my breast doesn't look or feel like it did before but it's not that bad. My anxiety has gone down some from when everything started back in March.
