Hi all,

Wow I used to spend my life on this board...I'm happy to report I'm 10 years post bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction...loved this board, made many friends!

Question...I have implants and they have "dents" now. On top of both and across middle on one. DH says he doesn't care and kinda doesn't want me to risk surgery and all that. I'm just wondering if I will feel less self conscious about it. I've been toying with the idea of getting the fat transfers and am just wondering how much of a difference it makes and if it's worth it? Just got all my surgery before/after/risks...and I'm like UGH.....so many bad memories of going through all this before and am just wondering if I really need to do this. Fat to be taken from my abdomen and injected into both breasts. Dr said it's like frosting a cake??? haha I've scheduled the surgery and all that will need to take a week off work, etc.

Any insight is much appreciated! Thanks!

Yes I did. The grafting filled out my upper pole. It looked great for about 5-6 years. The recovering from the grafting was painful if I recall. But I was glad I did it at the time.

mybee333 what happened after 5-6 years? Did the fat disappear?

Just did a revision with fat grafting 4 weeks ago. Yep the grafting is painful- especially as I picked what they called my “flanks” (love handles haha). Left me kindof miserable the first few days then lots of improvement but I’m still sore a bit!! But it looks really good right now so hoping I don’t lose it! Honestly my new boobs are looking better than the originals (though I obviously miss them).

I did the fat transfer back in March! Soooo glad!!!! I should have done this 10 years ago but I was just “done” and didn’t think it would make much of a difference but i was wrong! I may need another one, but now that I’ve seen results I have no hesitation. Yes my belly was sore for probably 6 weeks but it’s tolerable. My advice... finish the process! We signed up for reconstruction, don’t short change yourself. I wish I wouldn’t have waited.
