Radiation Induced Brachial Plexopathy

Options

I was diagnosed a year ago with RIBP and have been dealing with a lot of pain in my upper chest and neck area. I am taking Gabapentin for the pain and would like to know if anyone has tried stem cell treatments for RIPB ?

Hi, I finished radiation to all my nodes (auxilary and supercalvical) 4 weeks ago. During the treatment I felt weakness in my arm on the radiated side. It stopped but Now I also feel weakness. Does this mean it will become Bracial Neuropathy. Did people who got it also have the same initial symptoms. Finally, I also bumped a wall recently and when I was getting radiated I also got a bruise so I am wondering if the weakness is related to that.

Hi, I received 3 weeks of radiation therapy for breast cancer 7 years ago and my symptoms for my brachial plexopathy started about a year ago. After my treatment I was tired but did not feel any weakness in my arm or shoulder, so hopefully you won't have any complications! My nerves were damaged from the radiation but I'm told that a very small percentage of patients experience what I am going through. Wishing you all the best!

Hi Carey, I too have had neck and shoulder pain perhaps related to rads or surgeries; no one can say what. I'll say that when I had some fat grafting done in the third surgery, my PS said I might get some relief, perhaps related to stem cells. He sounded vague, though. That surgery was in June. I felt great all summer but things are acting up again. Perhaps it's the change in weather or that i go back to square one.

Let me know what you find out about stem cells. Best to you.
