Changing Fibroadenoma

Hi everyone. So I'm 30 now and was diagnosed as having a fibroadenoma in my left breast about a year and a half ago. It was 1.9 x 1.1 x 1.2cm then and confirmed as a fibroadenoma via core needle biopsy. I finally went for my 1 year ultrasound/mammogram follow-up a little late since it was already over a year. I was sent to an imaging center. Well the fibroadenoma has now grown a little and is measuring 2.2 x 1.0 x 1.9 cm. The report also says that now several borders are indistinct which is new. I know fibroadenomas can grow and shrink and also that they do not turn into cancer, but I can't really find any information about the margins going from clear/well circumscribed to indistinct/obscured. Has anyone ever had this experience? Is this truly something to worry about? I know others' experiences are anecdotal at best but just trying to stay calm as I wait for my appointment with a breast surgeon. Any feedback is welcome. Thanks!

I really don't know much about changes in the borders of a fibroadenoma, but just wanted to say I am thinking of you - it can be scary when our body surprises us like this! My own experience with fibroadenomas has shown me they can be very unpredictable. I think it's good you are seeing a surgeon. Best of luck.

Thanks. This whole process is nerve racking. I also read your post. Good luck to you as well with your growing fibroadenoma.
