Abnormal mammogram- oval masses on one side- QUESTION

I had my first mammogram last week since I just turned 40. They called me the next morning and said there were two spots and I needed further testing- ultrasound. They can't get me in until this Friday and the anxiety is really just the worst.

I got the mammogram report today and it says (in a nutshell) no suspicious microcalcifications or architectural distortion. Breast tissue is heterogeneously dense. There is an oval mass in the left subareolar breast, as well as a possible partially obscured oval mass in the deep subareolar left breast. Impression: left breast oval masses. Further evaluation with ultrasound recommended. The “oval" part has me thinking they are benign, because I read that online.

Questions:

Are oval masses almost always benign? Anyone have one that wasn't benign?

If they suspect something non-benign at the US, will they generally do a needle biopsy right then? I know a radiologist is doing the US.

Thank you so much for any insight
