Is there a marker in there? If so, your body may be reacting to it. I had discomfort from the marker for a few weeks. My body also hates earrings, even when gold plated. I have had my ears pierced a few times and each time the inflammation in my ear lobes persists until I take the earrings out.

Oh, ne0n, I'm so sorry. I'm thrilled of course that you don't have cancer but the pain and anxiety you describe sounds horrible. I agree with others about the possibility of pain from a marker left in your breast (standard procedure these days, tho good grief they should have told you about it) and the possibility of a staph infection seems real too. I would ask your second opinion doctor about both of those possibilities, and also ask if it may be scar tissue or a seroma.

My only other suggestion is to do the stretching exercises recommended for women who have a lumpectomy. If it's nerve damage that should help a lot; I'd try to do them three times a day for three-four days and see if there's improvement. Ice and Tylenol should help too if it is nerve damage or inflammation around the marker. Here's one link that may be useful:

Hope that helps and maybe someone more experienced will come along soon.
