Ringing in both ears more noticeable and not going away

I'm guessing I noticed a mild ringing in the ears 2 years ago and went in to get my hearing tested. They of course said that there was nothing wrong with my ears. Had trouble hearing people, etc. The sound has become more noticeable over the months/years and I went in again to a different Doctor, ENT this time. The MD took a look with her regular scope, clean ears. So much for an easy fix. I thought that they'd do something about the build up.

Now, I notice it all day long, except if there is something louder like music, etc. It's pretty annoying, but not painful yet. I've read about tinnitus hearing aids that may help. The ENT didn't talk about it until I mentioned it. Why is it that you have to be full blown out of it before they'll do anything? My boss tends to whisper and I'm constantly asking for repeats. Sorry to vent, but that's how it is.

P.S. I'd like to blame this on the chemo, but I don't think it has anything to do with it since I had it pre BC.
