Unilateral nipple/areola pain

Hi, I’m 37 & not remotely pregnant or breastfeeding. My left nipple/areola has been sore this week sometimes from my bra or bringing my arm across my chest. Today, I developed sharp pain in this breast..it goes from the top of the areola to the lateral side. There is no rash, no discharge, no lump. This nipple does have a bump on it that my OB-GYN said was an enlarged Montgomery tubercle several months ago. This nipple also peels & flakes & my md was unconcerned by this. This pain is kind of an ache feel and has me terrified bc it’s just one side. My OB-GYN would not see me today. Has anyone else had this kind of one sided pain & how did it turn out? I am due for a screening ultrasound in 1 month which I have enough anxiety about as it is and I know that’s the only way I’ll know for sure what’s going on. I go to sleep & wake up worrying about this pain.? It’s been sensitive on & off for awhile now but today the pain was worse. I’m scared...
