Breast cancer to my Thyroid? Worried :(

I am worried as I had 2. Primary breast cancers. Each breast was a separete cancer.

I am a 5 year survivor on the right side and 3 years on the left. I had alot of malignacy on my sternum. I had 40 plus lymph nodes removed with 22 malignant.

During the last year I have been having problems swallowing. I am also having the most gut wrenching pain in the sternum and under both sides of my shoulder blades.

Last week I had an abnormal Petscan. It shows abnormalties in the lymph nodes in my neck and also nodules my thyroid

Everything else looked great. I am worried. Has anyone heard or had a breast cancer recurrence in the Thyroid? My blood work is very good except I still have anemia.

I had to recently change drs and he acts like he dont want to do a pet scan . i was going every 6 months. Now I am yearly but its been a yr and half since i have had one. I have had rash and hot flashes. Severe constipation. Something just dont feel rigjt.

I go back next week.

Breast to thyroid is very uncommon but not impossible, see article below. Statistically should be something else showing up on PET in your thyroid. A thyroid ultrasound would help as a first step in evaluating that finding.

That's the trademark of thyroid disease. Most likely is unrelated to bc, but it could be a new primary. Hopefully just benign nodules with inflammation. Ask the doc to test your blood for thyroid antibodies and TSH, T3 and T4.

The sternum and rib pain is of concern.

The thyroid is likely nodules, but lymph nodes in neck could be related to BC.... hopefully not. You do need follow up testing for answers. Let us know
