Baseline Heart Imaging Decisions Based on Breast Cancer Treatment Choices, Not Women's Risk of Cardiac Problems

Doctors' decisions about whether or not a woman diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer has baseline heart testing before chemotherapy starts is based on the type of chemotherapy she will be receiving and not on her personal risk of heart problems. This suggests that a number of women at higher risk for treatment-related heart problems are not getting baseline testing. Read more...
