Hi all, I had a lumpectomy this morning under general anesthesia. The narcotics were really sucky. It's been several hours. At first I was itchy as a side effect and that has passed. I'm home now and now my feet are numb and tingly. It's annoying. Is this is a side effect of coming off the drugs or something I should be concerned with? Anybody? Thanks

It probably is a side effect of anesthesia, I had more trouble than usual walking after my surgery for the rest of the day and the next day. Try drinking water and if it doesn't let up you could call the doctor or the hospital. Actually they should be calling you tomorrow to check up on you. You should mention this side effect and see what they think.

A couple hours have passed and the tingling has gone away. Thank goodness. An allergic reaction was not on my radar to go thru today too. Thanks for the tips Jenndenino578. Now to focus on the hard part of waiting on results... If you're the praying kind, please keep me in prayer. Thanks.

    Confettimom --

I am glad to hear that you're feeling better. It probably was a reaction to all of the drugs they pump into you but the nurses from the hospital should have called you to follow up today. If memory serves me correctly, I was called the day after my breast surgery and the day after my laparoscopic dermoid cyst removal surgery (from my ovary) in 2011 which was also an outpatient procedure. Also, if you have any fever or a lot of redness, discomfort, etc. you are supposed to go to the local ER.

I will say a prayer that you have benign results. May God bless you and watch over you.

Hmm, the hospital never called me and my post-op appt is still over a week away. But I am now 3 days post lumpectomy and I'm happy to report i don't have any other weird symptoms other than the general soreness at the incision site. Now to twiddle my thumbs as I wait for biopsyresults. I truly appreciate the prayers. It's all I can do to stave off depression at the moment. This truly is a great and understanding community and I'm soglad I found it. :)
