Biopsy marker not found.

I don't know if anyone has experienced this. Sorry this is long. When I had my stereotactic core biopsy, the radiologist placed a clip/marker at the biopsy site. A mammogram was done to record a picture of the clip placement. Just before my llymph node tracking and lumpectomy, the same radiologist placed a wire into the lesion, his notes said that the clip wasn't found. My surgeon couldn't find it nor was it in any of the tissue sent to pathology. My surgery was on August 27th and I have a mammogram scheduled on September 14th specifically to look for the clip. If found my surgeon will go back in to remove the clip and tissue around it. Any thoughts

Maybe it didn't deploy initially? I had a titanium marker put in in 2012 and they could not see it on mammogram back then, but later when I finally had lumpectomy 6 years later, the tiny marker was removed along with the newer Savi Scouts they put in before surgery. Do you have dense breasts?

Yes, very dense. Hopefully the mammogram they did right after putting it in will be helpful to them.
