Hi everyone

So had my first dd taxol a week ago Monday and by day 9 woke w a rash all over. Took Benadryl and it was fine after that. It's not that bothersome. Woke today w same rash. Benadryl and I'm good. Just tired from Benadryl But I am praying dr will allow me to keep going w this dd every 2 weeks. I only have 3 left so I hope he keeps me here and doesn't say once a week for 10 weeks. Has anyone had the rash and been able keep going w the dd taxol? Thanks in advance:-

I also get a rash from Taxol. I'm hoping to be switched to Abraxane.

I only had it once. Benadryl took it right away. No issue after that.

are you given Benadryl during the infusion? I had to take steroids and Benadryl during in order to prevent an allergic reaction. I was able to stop the steroids once I didn’t react but they kept the Benadryl for each infusion

I received Benadryl and steroids during my infusion of taxol. I didn't get a rash but had excrutiating all over body pain after the first dose. the following 3 doses I took steroid on the following days to subside the pain and it helped a lot.

Hi, I just finished 12 weeks of weekly taxol and I got a rash that seemed to start as a contact dermatitis to a silver necklace I've worn for a couple years. Only started half way through. Taxol often causes rashes, so I've heard. Have you tried any of the over the counter antihistamines that tend to cause less drowsiness? Zyrtec (cetirizine) has been my long term favorite for seasonal allergies, Zyzal is a newer more specific version of Zyrtec, Allegra is another good one. I haven't had as much luck with Claritin (although it does seem to be working to prevent bone pain from the neulasta I got with my first dose of A/C, so yay!).

Hope you find something that works.
