Pain at final stage of tissue expander? Anyone else?

I had BM in July, with TE placed at the time. Partially filled at surgery and twice since then. No pain at all at the time. Recently had a seroma in L breast and had it expressed and resown, as the tissue wasn't healing well. That was almost 2 weeks ago. Over the past 3-4 days I'm having pretty impressive pain in L breast close to the sternum. If I move my L arm up or out, it aggravates the pain. There is also some mild bruising in the spot that hurts. No redness, no swelling. Has anyone else had this happen?

Yes my sternum hurt like someone had punched it. OH MY GOD it hurt so bad during my TE time. I assume the TEs are under your pec muscles? Well, your pec muscles attach to your sternum. So as you fill the TEs it pulls on your sternum right there. OUCH.

That being said, definitely mention it to your ps when you go for your next fill.

ispy, thanks, that bit of anatomy explains a lot! Yeah, I'll tell her, but I wonder if they can do anything about it at this stage. I forgot to add that I broke my sternum in a car accident years ago. At the time they said it would never completely heal because cartilege doesn't grow back together. My bet is that this problem is making it worse. Did your doc do anything about it? Can they fix it? Thanks!
