hi

Went to the dr today she said it could be because of fat nacrosis or the medicines I am having like steroids or methotrexate .I have to wait and watch and called me after six month for another mammogram.I insisted for a biopsy or MRI for come to one side yes or no but she refused all my demands and my husband also had fight with me for asking these.

Should I really wait and see for any another changes should I believe my breast surgeon its nothing because US and Mamo could find anything suspicious.or I should go for a second opinion.

Listen to your gut instinct. Remember you are your own advocate. If you are not satisfied, you have every right to get a second opinion. Even if your doctor ends of being right, it is important that you feel comfortable with your care.

Second opinions never hurt but why, specifically does your doc want to wait? Is the area in question not definite to enough to biopsy? i.e. visually ambiguous. Same thing with imaging, if things are ambiguous, the radiologist who interprets imaging may not be able to state definite finding.

I recently had a PET which shows possible metabolic activity at L3, but it's not clear if that's truly the case. Doing a biopsy without a clear idea of what to biopsy doesn't make sense. I will be waiting 4 months to scan again and then the two scans can be compared. Wishing you the best

    rizz,

I’m not a doctor, so I can’t answer your question. My point being that, based on imaging you have already had, they may not have a clear idea of what to biopsy
