Undergarments and how do you dress

When I had my huge D breasts, I had to wear a bra (no kidding) and hated it. Now that I have been flat for 11 years, I sometimes wonder if I should explore feminine-bra-type undergarments (no heavy lifting required!). For this last decade-plus, I found JCrew "favorite" t-shirts and use those as my first layer or only layer (on very hot days). I'm toying with tank-type to switch it up...but then realized I could do silk or lace or ...?? I even thought about a "starter" bra that could deal with some of the concave aspect when I wear more clingy clothes. I don't wear prosthetics.

Curious to hear how others dress with undergarments.

Hi Wallycat, I had a BMX just over a year ago and also chose not to have reconstruction. I absolutely love not wearing a bra, especially during these hot Florida summers. I do have the prosthetic bras and use them only when I absolutely have to - I have a couple of sheer dressy tops and I just feel like I look better in them with boobs. So I suffer through it! But I have a lot of tops that you can't see through so I don't wear anything under them.

I do have sports bras and bralettes, but they aren't really very comfortable so I don't wear them very often. I even wear just Tek Gear workout sleeves tops for Zumba, etc. I never thought about a starter bra but do they make them big enough for adults? After 55+ years of wearing bras, I'm enjoying wearing nothing 99% of the time!!

I’m one sided and a B on the one left. I recently found some Jockey bras that have a removable insert with an opening on the sides. I think they are designed for women who don’t want their nipples to show. Anyway where I am concave on my mastectomy side, they poof our a little which is perfect. And I can add a little stuffing into the slot if I want more balance. I hate my prosthesis too. I’ll check the exact style name and let you know. Good luck

I have them too! You can find them in Kohl's and probably Target has them as well. I use Knitted Knockers behind the insert. They give just enough shape so that it looks like you aren't flat. And I also just got a pair of Knitted Knockers that are for bathing suits! The yarn is rayon, I think, and the stuffing is kind of like the a mesh. And they are free!

Hi, I'm just a teenager and where I live a lot of people around me have been getting breast cancer lately. With it being the highest cancer in my area I wanted to do something. I can't make a shot to not get it but I thought you guys go through a lot, you fight and then are stuck with this problem of not having comfortable bras or heavy inserts. One of my favorite teachers recently started reconstruction and complains how uncomfortable it is to have your bra rise up or the fear of the insert falling out. I joined hosa and decided to do a medical innovation on them. I was wondering if you had any ideas or things you wish you could change about the bra or insert. What have you difficulty so I can work to change it. Thank you for your time.

I like Coobie bras: they are comfortable, have a little insert so that you can a prosthesis in there if you want, and they have some prettier ones. https://shopcoobie.com/

I prefer no bra at all but if I have to wear one, I would like a nice COOL lightweight form. The prosthetic bras themselves aren't too bad and are fairly comfortable, but when you put the silicone forms in them, they are very heavy. Maybe my posture is better when I wear one!
