Most comfortable front closure bra?

Options

Hello,

I am 15 days post op left breast mastectomy. I plan to get properly fitted with prosthesis when I am fully healed but I need a front closure bra to wear in the next few weeks. I am a 38C so I would like to find a bra with some support but very comfortable on my incision. I dont usually buy bras online because I always need to try them on, but it seems now I will have to in order to find what I am looking for.

Thanks for any help!

anaono bras are designed for comfort and support after BC surgery. They’re designed by actual BC warriors who know where not to put seams, edges, etc. I bought the full coverage pocketed bra from thei makemerry collection and love it. It misses all my scars, doesn’t ride up, just enough support and super soft on my super sensitive skin. After you’re fitted for prosthesis you can still wear these bras-just pop the prosthesis in the pocket. A little pricey but well worth it.

    I bought this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00H9MWZ2I/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I ordered my normal size and one size up from amazon. I have prime so I can just ship back the ones that didn't fit. My normal size fit great before surgery but was way too small with all the swelling, and the drains tubes had to run under the band as well. Right now I'm wearing one size up and just leaving the bottom two hooks undone to give a little more room. Two sizes would have been better for the swelling, but the next size up was so much bigger that it bunched up under my armpits. I guess there are not a lot of petite women wearing a 38, lol. They are 100% cotton and very comfortable, not to mention affordable. If you have prime you can order them and send them back if you don't like them. I also bought one at the Walmart near me for about the same price, though the other Walmart in my area did not carry them so check in advance to make sure they have them.

Echoing the above, I ended getting my normal size (38C) and one size up of that same Hanes brand bra that user hapa (above) noted. The swelling and the drains just after surgery I used the one size larger and was comfortable... Now with both drains out and the TE with a bit of fill, my normal size isn't quite the right size any longer. I love the cotton, feels quite comfortable against the sensitive skin.

I also ordered a bra from Camellias post surgery front close sports bra which had a wider and lower band at the bottom and adjustable straps. I like this one as it came down under the breast more around the upper part of the ribs. The back is quite different from the Hanes ones mentioned above and does provide different support and is more like the material of the surgibra.

I think a lot of this is going to be about trial and error with the post-op body. The surgibra I was discharged from the hospital with I had to wear 24/7 until my first post-op appt w the surgeons and then again something until all my drains were removed. I brought the bras I purchased into the office for the visit and had the Drs "ok" their use based on the support they provided. I am looking at some supportive camisoles as well.

    I hope this helps.
