Breast seroma

I have been dealing with an infected breast seroma. I've been going to have wound care daily for 4 weeks now. I was in PT and she noticed swelling in my back (same side as seroma) I've been having back pain but everyone was saying it's normal after surgery. The surgeon wants to see me tomorrow for aspiration. Has anyone had this in their back? I can't seem to get a break here. UGH

    Hi Deamo1,

Sorry to hear your dealing with an infected breast seroma. I'm guessing the infection was drained out and wound care has been packing the wound? That's what happened to me only it was a leg seroma that got infected along with cellulitis and had to be immediately drained and then I packed it myself at home for about 3 weeks. It healed fine so hopefully yours will also.

Does the doctor think the seroma has pushed through to your back? Is that what the aspiration is for? Let us know how it goes.

@Veeder14. I see the surgeon tomorrow hopefully she'll figure this out. I wonder about the seroma pushing through the back also. It seems so weird. The "front' seroma is slowly healing and doing better then this happened to my back. Maybe an xray will tell?

Veeder14 Yes, I've been getting it packed daily. So you are saying you got a seroma in your leg after breast surgery? I'm just now reading that it can happen anywhere in your body. Wow!
