Had my guided-wire lumpectomy (L) and bilateral breast reduction on 8/17. Arrived at hospital at 6:30am and was home in the recliner by 5pm. Still blows my mind. Had SO much less pain than I was expecting.... was off of pain meds by Monday night. Discomfort and tenderness, sure, but nothing I would really call pain.

Saw plastic surgeon last Wednesday for bandage removal, and the only downside there was that the “negative pressure” therapy machine by Prevena left me with numerous blisters around where your bra band would go. Very painful, and dr said he was going to contact manufacturer bc I’m not the only one it’s given blisters. Yow.

Saw breast surgeon today, who was thrilled with my progress and my great pathology report: 4.5mm tumor, large clear margins, and zero lymph node involvement! 🎉 I am a happy woman.

Next step is a short course of radiation; no chemo necessary. Seeing the plastic surgeon again on Wednesday for recheck of my newly jaunty girls, who are surprised and delighted to be back in the old neighborhood they inhabited in my 20s. Kudos to modern medicine and my awesome tag-team surgeons
