What is the best follow up after double mastectomy with immediate silicone reconstruction ? Diagnosis was DCIS left breast. Stage 0. High grade. Comedo Necrosis. ER neg. Family history of invasive BC (sister) My Sentinel node on left side clear. No chemo or radiation needed. After surgery, breasts were sent to lab and ductal carcinoma was found in right breast also. Initial recommendation was lumpectomy with radiation but I chose dbl mastectomy. Not seeing oncologist because I did not have chemo. Now wondering what is best follow up and how often. My surgeon is seeing me in 6 months and she recommends MRIs every 3 years. That does not seem often enough. Do I need ultrasounds ? How often. What about mammos ? I'm worried about recurrence? I am 64 years old and no other health issues. Thank you for any advice you can provide.
