my upper abdomen has a wide, visible, oval area across it, below the scar line (2-3 “ tall) that is swollen as tho it has air pumped in, and in addition my entire trunk is swollen and very uncomfortable, painful in and off. What gives? I am used to having a very flat tummy.

I have had only a double mastectomy Monday with one sentinel node removed on one side. No chemo, no radiation, no tamoxifen. Today is Thursday and this started yesterday.

Sounds a really good reason to call to your surgeon, or the covering physician if he's away.  Surgeons like to know right away about weird happenings.

oncosurgeon insists it is constipation from the narcotics I took up until yesterday. Not

True. I have an extra long colon and have battled costipation for 20+ years. That's not what this feels like.

So I blame 500 mg keflex four times daily. I called plastic surgeon and told him I'm cutting it I'm half. She said they “always" prescribe 50 four times daily but if it was bothering my tummy i could cut It in half.

    We will see.....
