hi. Hope all is doing okay. I have to start a new pill. I would like to know if anybody is on this pill. It’s called. Xeloda. If anybody is on it I would like to know how you are doing on it. If it’s well tolerated. Not to many side effects and what ever else advice anybody has. Also is there anybody on this site that lives in the northeast Philadelphia area. I would like to know who your oncologist is. Thank you Rhonda

There is a thread on the subject of xeloda. Lots of ladies on it. My wife was on xeloda for over a year for her liver mets, and it worked very well for her. The main side effect was cracking and burning of the skin on her feet. Side effects are much more tolerable with lower dosages. There is a tendency for the Onc to start you out on the highest dosage and then only lower it when you get severe side effects. Whether that strategy is any better for fighting the cancer is unknown, as many get good results on lower dosages.

    Hi Tychad,

There's a great and popular thread here in the Stage IV forum called All About Xeloda that should be helpful -- stop by and say hi and we're sure the other members there will be happy to share their experiences with this treatment.

Also, there may be some helpful information for you on this drug on the main Breastcancer.org site's drug page on Xeloda.

    We hope this helps!
