I know IBC is very rare. I believe that IBC if both breast is even rarer but I am terrified. I had total hystorecotmy in 2009 and am on estrogen. I have been sick for 5 month with cough and wheezing. I have no hx of allergies. A month ago I began with a rash in both sides of my chest about 2 inches above both breast. It was a blotchy cluster that is itchy and red. At times it looked pitted but only if really irritated. Over the past month is has spread down onto both breast and itch like nothing I have ever know before. I do have some breast pain and fullness. I have been to PCP, OBGYN, and Derm. No one can seem to give me an answer. Obgyn was before it spread to breast and she said I needed to see Derm. I have allergist appointment tomorrow, where do I go from here? Can I demand testing? I am only 34 but worried it may be something and is being missed. Any guidance would be helpful.

Just go to the allergist tomorrow and wait and see what they say. What exactly did the dermatologist say?

Are you being treated for the cough of 5 month's duration?

djmamm, I have been treated 3 x with steroids and 2 x antibiotic. Also, have has 2 chest xray that were normal. Steroids and Antibiotic have had no effect. Hoping allergist can give some answers.

Derm did not seem too interested in it. I was not happy with his bed side manner to say the least. My first time seeing him and do not think I will be going back. I saw him for other reasons also.

Ask the allergist if they think the cough and rash are related. Has there been fever? Have you had or have you been vaccinated for the usual childhood diseases? Do you work with children or animals?

From the description of your symptoms I would not have thought of IBC.

No fever but I have gotten hot flashes and chills. I do not work with children but do have to of my own. The rash stayed the same for about three weeks and how now started to spread rapidly onto breast, am now having some breast pain that comes and go. Almost feels simlair to when my milk would come in when breast feeding. Nipples are also very sorry and itchy.
