Is Cryotherapy an alternative for me
Good morning,
My name is Christelle, stage II, RO+, RP+, HER2-,KI67 20%. I am actually based in Paris where i am being treated . I have a breast cancer which i have treated 2 years ago, i had a partial breast surgery then a lymph nodes surgery, i was then treated by radiotherapy; i was pregnant at the time of the surgeries and i have a beautiful 2 years old son. My cancer has appeared again after 2 years and i just got the results that it is in the same location; Protocol is saying that i have to remove my breast totally now and after that i will have to go through chemotherapy and hormone therapy. Do you think cryotherapy could be an alternative to all mentioned protocole above? If yes could you advise me with hospitals that treat with cryotherapy? any in France? Europe? or any other place you could recommend?

We are really sorry to hear that you are going through this ... again. You may find this page on Cryotherapy helpful.
(This is a paragraph from that page):
How is cryotherapy used to treat breast cancer?
Right now, cryotherapy is an experimental treatment for breast cancer. Scientists are studying whether cryotherapy might be a good alternative to breast cancer surgery, as well as the types of breast cancer cryotherapy would treat most effectively. If you're interested in being part of a study on cryotherapy for breast cancer, visit the National Cancer Institute's clinical trials search page and search for a breast cancer treatment trial on cryotherapy or cryosurgery.
Have you discussed this option with your breast surgeon?
Sending you and your little son gentle hugs

Moderators,
Are there any later studies about Cryotherapy and Chemotherapy? Is it still considered experimental?
This article points out that small study suggests that wearing frozen gloves and socks for 90 minutes during Taxol chemotherapy can help control neuropathy symptoms. I think the study was done in 2016.
I know very little about neuropathy but have read that many chemo patients get it and it can last for years.

I watched the posted video. This is really interesting and gives another option for those with early stage, low grade cancer hoping to keep the breast.

You may want to check Williams Cancer Institute (Dr. Jason Williams).
I had cryoablation with immunotherapy in April 2018. It's too early to determine if it was 100% successful for me but I have spoken to one of his patients who shows no sign of breastcancer with treatment 5 + years ago

IslandGirl123--when you say you had cryoablation with immunotherapy--what did the immunotherapy consist of? Did you have radiation after the cryoablation?? I have been accepted by Dr. Peter Littrup in Detroit to do cryoablation for me, but he still recommends radiation after the cryoablation and I am having a hard time finding someone here at home to do the radiation part.

There are very positive results from breast cancer cryoabtion studies available on the internet. Search “breast cancer cryoablation”. I tried to post direct links but it wouldn’t allow me.
It’s possible that cryoablation combined with immunotherapy may see even better results or, perhaps, the ability to treat more advanced breast cancers

Thank you IslandGirl123!! I got your message.

1 year after, cryoablation and immunotherapy, I had 3 core biopsies done in April 2019. The lab results determined there is no evidence of cancer. I had no radiation, no chemotherapy, no lumpectomy, no masectomy. This was my personal choice which may not be for everyone but it is always better to know what is available so you can make an informed decision.
