Glandular thickening L-breast with bruising

Hi everyone,

Last week I noticed a bruise on my left breast and appearance of a prominent vein (unsure how long this was here though, it looks more prominent but I never really took a lot of notice).

I went to the doctor this morning - he investigated and has sent me for an ultrasound next week. He noticed glandular thickening near the bruise and put clinical notes saying: ?unexpected bruise, superficial vein and glandular thickening. ?sinister lesions beneath.

I can't seem to add the img but will try in the comments. The bruise seems to be fading a little, but is still forming small red circle which is odd as bruises usually fade completely but theres still some pink areas.

Did anyone have symptoms like this before a diagnosis? I am concerned especially since I have puckering in my nipple that comes and goes, have had flat nipples since I remember (probs not related though), and over the last few years had random sharp breast pains on both sides that have come and gone. Usually a few days or weeks apart so I always just assumed this was due to certain bra's I was wearing or my cycle.

Fingers crossed I get some information from an ultrasound but im really worried. Advice or help would be appreciated!!

Naomi

Hi naoms4, We understand how stressful it is to have to wait, and not to know. These symptoms could be so many things that it will be difficult for someone to answer. Most important is to get an ultrasound and have them check into what's going on. We are routing that everything is benign!!! Please keep us posted!

    Thanks for your message!!

I had my ultrasound today. I have noticed in the last few days that my affected L breast has enlarged over time (IDK over how long) because its much tighter in my bra and my R breast is very small in my bra.

My ultrasound took about 35 to 40 minutes. She spent about 25-30 minutes looking at my left breast and under arm. The spot where my doctor said there was thickening and suspected suspicious lesions is where she spent a huge amount of time moving forward and back taking many photos. She also got out a ruler and measured between my nipple and the spot. She apologised for having to grab a ruler because she doesn't usually have to. She also spent a long time in the underarm area looking. I wasn't able to see the images or receive a copy. The radiologist didn't come in to look or speak to me which I guess is a good sign but I am concerned they wouldnt give me the images? Maybe its just their policy. My doctor should have it by tomorrow (Sat) but his office is shut and my appt is Monday morning when they open for the week.

Im really worried especially since I noticed the increase in breast size plus a lot of pain in that breast. The bruise has still not gone down much. I can see a lot of very small red veins around it and its still in a circular shape. Ugh. Im so worried.

Advice is, as always, well appreciated! Also if you had similar symptoms I'd love to know!

So I got my ultrasound results back. Stated At 1 o'clock position 3cm from the nipple within the left breast, there is a solid appearing slightly lobular Hypoechoic lesion measuring 7 x 4 x 5 mm. It probably represents an incidental fibroadenoma. Fine needle aspiration under ultrasound guidance is recommended for further evaluation of this.

I have to wait a week to get the FNA/core biopsy done.

Does anyone know whether 'slightly lobular' means irregular?
