Anyone on the board with ER- and PR+?

Hi I do not know if this is the right board but I am just so worried since my mother was diagnosed with IDC ER- and PR+. She is getting her lumpectomy/mastectomy tomorrow but curious what the plan will be to keep the cancer away.

Does typical hormone therapy work?

I am er+ pr-, there are a few more of us. Your mom is in an even smaller group but there are people out there.

I believe hormone therapy will be recommended for her. If she is postmenopausal she might be given aromatese inhibitors or even tamoxifen. Not sure if there is enough data to say which would be more beneficial for er- pr+.

Er+ pr+ AI vs tamoxifen about the same benefit but for er+ pr- AI drugs are better.

Looks like AI slightly better than tamoxifen for er- pr+.
