I’m 37 years old & almost 6 months ago I noticed a bump on top of my left nipple. My gyn examined it & said it was an enlarged Montgomery tubercle. In the last couple months, the left nipple has been peeling and it hurts occasionally, usually a burning sensation. I have tried Vaseline, tea tree oil, mometasone cream (steroid prescribed for something else) but it still peels. This nipple looks different from the other bc the shape had changed due to the enlarged gland, I feel like the Areola on the affected side is lighter & it just looks different to me. It is also itchy, but not often. It seems to flare up when the pain & peeling then settle down a little. I had a diagnostic mammo on this side last October due to a tingling & thickened area next to the nipple..that came back fine along with a clear mammogram. It really doesn’t look that bad, but I can see the “issues.” I’m wondering if it’s pagets. I’m not prone to eczema at all. This breast is almost a cup size larger than the the other so I wonder if it could be friction but why would it start now? And hurt...and have the lump/enlarged gland..I just don’t want to be missing something serious.
