Super anxious
I had my first baseline mammogram at 40 last 7/30 and got a call back on 8/2 that they want to do another mammogram and ultrasound. They said something about asymmetry, I was not satisfied so I asked for the result and below report was what I was given.
Oval focal asymmetry/nodule in right breast central/9 o'clock and asymmetry in right breast lateral craniocaudal view, both middle third need additional evaluation.
17mm mass at left breast 3 o'clock middle to posterior third needs additional evaluation.
ASSESSMENT: Incomplete: need additional imaging evaluation (BiRad 0)
Can anybody shed some light if this is something to be worried about? 17mm seems scary to me.
Thank you in advance

It is reaaly common to get a call back for more views on first mammograms since they have no old films to compare to to know what your "normal" is. Lots of times the additional views clear things up, so it is really premature to be worried about it. Even if it should turn out they want to biopsy something, the vast majority, 80% or more, are benign

Hello. Just want to share with you what happened today at my diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound after waiting anxiously for a few days. The result shows that I have a 2cm mass on my left breast and 2 very small one on my right. The doctor said he the thinks they are fibroadenoma due to the shape but due to the size also, he wants to do a biopsy to rule out cancer. He said for the other 2 very small mass to just monitor on the next mammogram. I asked my birds score and he said it's a 3. Just wondering if anybody here has similar result and how was the biopsy result? I’m still scared that it might be cancer... have a 4 year old toddler after waiting for 20 years to have a child. Thank you all in advance.

A Bi-Rads 3 is estimated to be a less than 3% chance of being cancer.

Hi
Not sure what’s going on with my left breast, I visited breast clinic yesterday as I was feeling the right breast didn’t feel right they performed a mammogram and it shown what the doctor describe as a fold in the breast
The ultrasound was inconclusive so I have now been referred for a mri scan there’s been no mention of biopsies
I was lucky in that my hospital is running a trial for contranst mammograms which involves having iodine run through an iv line this blocks normal tissue and any suspicious areas highlight in white so it works like the mri scans
The results were promising as the area did not highlight but I still have to go for the mri wgmhich is next week as this is only a trial in the hospital so they still need to follow procedures
The waiting is awful and I won’t get results until the 28th if this month

Hello. Need some insights with the report of my mammo/ultrasound as it was a bit different from what the radiologist explained verbally (he said it was bi-rad 3 but seems like it is bi-rad 4 on my left).
There is a 20mm oval mass with partly circumscribed margins in the left 3 o'clock middle third that needs additional evaluation. There is one, and possibly two, 10mm nodules right 9-10 o'clock mid-posterior. The more anterior is not seen on MLO views. Both need additional evaluation.
Findings: No abnormality in either axilla.
Lesion #1: Left breast 2-3 o'clock 10 cm from nipple 19 x 18 x 8mm hypoechoic mass corresponds to mass seen on mammogram. Lesion is probably a fibroadenoma.
Lesion #2: Right breast 9 o'clock 3 cm from nipple 8 x 6 x 3mm hypoechoic nodule may correspond to one of the nodules seen on mammogram. This is probably a fibroadenoma. Both seen on right craniocaudal views are probably benign.
ACR BI-RADS® Assessments: Suspicious (Bi-Rad 4) (Overall) Mammogram Bil: Incomplete: need additional imaging evaluation (BiRad 0) - ultrasound of both breasts performed today. Ultrasound: Suspicious (Bi-Rad 4) abnormality in the left breast - lesion #1 Ultrasound: Probably benign (Bi-Rad 3) finding in the right breast - lesion #2.
Thank you all in advance.

I understand how you feel... the waiting sucks. Hoping and praying for a favorable result for you.

ROSE< I'm not a doctor of course but those sound like pretty good findings. However if they are offering a core needle biopsy I'd do it; better to be safe than sorry. It's no fun but not especially painful.
Maxp31, hang in there. An MRI is also no walk in the park, but it gives another view of your breasts and will give you and some doctors some additional info. I'm sure.
And yes, waiting is the worst! Try to take walks, exercise, watch movies, buy shoes, or whatever takes your mind off of the tests. MelissaDallas is right that the odds are in your favor.

Thanks Georgia1... I will be getting my biopsy today.
Update: Just got a call from the nurse and the result was benign, it was fibroadenoma.Thank you all for your help 🙏🏻 Praying and hoping for a favorable result for you maxp31.
