Return appointment for results?

I have very dense breast tissue and was called in for a diagnostic mammogram and u/s after my first ever screening mammogram a week ago today. (I am 40.)

While they were getting more pictures they found a 1cm mass that they hadn’t seen before. The u/s confirmed it wasn’t a cyst and although the radiologist said it seems to be on the benign side of things, nothing is 100% so I am scheduled for an u/s guides core biopsy next Thursday.

My question is this: are return appointments for the results normal? They made me a biopsy appointment and a return appointment for 3 days after. I thought they’d just call me on the phone? It seems more stressful to have to be told in a room like that? Idk.

Anyone else had to do that

Very common practice all over the US. Don't read anything into it.

I had a follow appointment after my biopsy to get my results. It was benign, i think it just depends on the doctor. My surgeon told me the entire time I didn't have anything to worry about because he did not think it was cancer. I hope this will put your mind at ease some. I know all of this is scary.
