Tamoxifen and Surgery (port removal)

So I've just scheduled my port removal surgery for a couple of days from now. Problem is, I've just remembered my oncologist mentioning she wanted me off of tamoxifen before surgery (at the time she was referring to a post-radiation mastectomy, which I did not end up going through with since I already had the lumpectomy + radiation). I'm waiting for the surgeon to call back to confirm if it's okay to take the port out in a couple of days even though I haven't stopped the tamoxifen. Anyone else think this is okay? Or have any insight/info?
