rib/chest pain, possible mets?
hello all! So I've kind of been driving myself crazy the last little while, anyway here's a little back story I had non Hodgkins lymphoma is 2007 and the breast cancer in 2016, I finished chemo for stage 2 IDC in Dec 2016 and the had a DMX in Jan 2017, long story short kind of short I had a scar revision surgery in Mar of 18 and about two months after that I started experiencing some major chest pain and ended up going to the ER instead of my Dr because I also moved a few states away. they did a CT Angio of my chest and an electrocardiogram and that came back good, they told me to see a specialist and so I made an app with a breast oncologist, I told her I still am having chest pain and now have pain in my lower ribs on the cancer side and so she says we'll I don't know you (even after I sent over ALL medical records)or your case because I've only seen you twice, but we can schedule you for an ultrasound on both sides if you want because the CT the ER did showed an enlarged lympnode (it was only slightly enlarged I guess) anyway I'm so frustrated that she's brushing me off but I am getting worried about the pain in my ribs and chest and sometimes it causing my back to hurt and ache, I am afraid that an ultrasound isn't going to show anything? How were y'all dx with recurrence in your bones or chest wall? Did you have pain? What did the pain feel like? Am I just being paranoid? Could this be something else? This has been keeping me up at night and I'm just exhausted dealing with this thanks ladies

Sorry sourlemon. It is scary. I have had pains in my ribs and below on two different occasions. I’m not sure if you had radiation but I developed cording along my ribs after my rads that I needed pt for. It was so tender and hurt just below my scar line when I moved. Maybe your scar revision caused some issue that pt can resolve. Physical therapy worked wonders.
I have recently been back to see the doctor about aches just under my ribs. Like you describe sometimes I feel it in my back. Ultrasound, X-ray, liver enzymes were all normal. That’s good but it still bothers me so I will continue to press until I have an answer. The ultrasound may be a good place to start to get you some answers too. You might need to press further as well but it is the least invasive procedure so many docs start with that first. I hope you find some and relief soon.

The ultrasound is a start, but if the pain persists, a bone scan may be needed. If this doc brushes you off, find another.
