Confused about Biopsy Results (Benign but High Risk)

Can Anyone guide me....? My Radiologist called and told me my core biopsy revealed good reaults- benign but then he went on to say the tissue was not clearly fibroadenoma and it had characteristics that may be either a Phyllodes tumor or another suspicious process, that the results are high risk and the tumor needs to come out by wide excision or else it could lead to malignancy. I'm so relieved it's benign but it doesn't sound as straight forward as all is well, no worries. He told me set up an appt with a surgeon. I will call there later today. Will the lumpectomy tell more? Has anyone ever had a benign biopsy not but malignant lumpectomy? I want to get excited about my benign results but something just feels really off and I won't feel at ease untill I do get this removed I think. Thanks for any feedback!

I went through the same thing, sort of. My dr told me the biopsy was benign, but it was not just a simple fibroadanoma like she thought. I had it removed and I’m two weeks post op. Results after excision still remained benign. “Tubular Adanoma”

I had atypical lobular hyperplasia nine years ago and an excisional biopsy was recommended. There was about a 20% probability they'd find something more serious in the area (which they did not), but it did give me peace of mind.

Thank you Sita and Ingerp! I am just confused because when I asked the doctor about it, they said something about the tissues being complex and not looking as expected and the risk of malignancy if not removed. In MyChart they just put the doctor's one line summary up and not the full pathology report, which Ithought was odd. I still don't have answers why I'm getting pain in both armpits.
