Xeloda for small rest tumor triple negative?

Goodmorning,

Happy to find this website. Hope to get some answers here. I am from holland and can 't find much information about it there. Here is my question: in january I was diagnosed with TN breastcancer stage 1 tumor 19mm. After chemotherapy and surgary I had a rest tumor of 2mm. My doctor was very pleased with the results, but now I received a phonecall from the hospital about xeloda??? for extra survival rare? Scarred now..

Anyone have more info for me? Are my results bad hoe after surgery?

My understanding is anything under 5 mm, is a near perfect response. Your new stage is ypT1a. It’s a great result. No it doesn’t mean more surgeries

I had 7mm remaining which is ypT1b and I am on Xeloda. Its suppose to improve survival by an additional 10%.

I am surprised they offered Xeloda with such a small amount remaining but anything we can do to I am willing to try. My doctor quoted this article about survival rates.

Hi Ilonas, I am not TN, but I am on Xeloda right now. It seems there is good recent evidence that Xeloda improves outcomes, and even moreso for TN disease. It sounds like your MO is up to date on that recent research. Here are a couple links for you:

Thanks for your reactions. I have spoken to my MO today and now they say it isn't nessacary. Because of the good response. I am a little confused now. They wanted me to think it over.

Better safe then sorry I think???
