My MO appt is next Wednesday so of course im thinking ahead of all the possible scenarios regarding my treatment. I havent been told any information regarding an oncoprint but my ki67 percentage was high. My margins after surgery were clear and Im 53 years old, post-menopausal. Do you think Ill be needing the oncoprint results to determine if chemo is neccessary? Wondering if anyone's case is similar.

Thanks so much, Cindy 🤗

    Hi Cindymb!

I would certainly request the Oncotype test if I were you. Your cancer is Grade 3 and has a high ki67 percentage, which suggests that chemo could be recommended. An Oncotype test can say more definitively whether the risks of chemo outweigh the benefits. There's no reason to go through chemo if your Oncotype number is low. Good luck!

    Elaine,

So an Oncotype score can be low even when the ki67 percentage is high?

Hi Cindymb: Your Ki-67 is one of the factors used to determine your Oncotype score, along with about 20 other factors, so your score might be somewhat elevated. But whether it is high enough to recommend chemo remains to be seen. Hoping the best for you!!
