Dimpling
I recently noticed slight dimpling on the side of my left breast. In the 3:00-5:00 area. Looks like very slight cellulite. No large indentions. I can only see it with my arm raised. My OB checked me out yesterday and said he could not feel any lumps. He thinks my breasts are fibrous. He said he didn't think it is anything concerning but said for me to get an ultrasound. I'm waiting on finding out when the ultrasound is. I'm just really anxious. I have No history of breast cancer in my family. Has anyone experienced the dimpling?

I think the waiting part is universally pretty awful. Hopefully, they can get cracking on the biopsy appt soon. I don't know how old you are, but I just want you to know that only a small number of breast issues require biopsy. Of that number, around 80% will be benign. So, you're odds are strongly in your favor. Try to keep your hands busy--busy hands = busy brain. It will help you calm yourself, believe it or not. If the anxiety becomes overwhelming, talk to your doctor about a course of anti-anxiety medicine. Many of us have benefitted from a little Xanax or Ativan to get us over the hump.
Let us know how it goes for you, Okay?

Thank you for your reply! I will let you know. I do have Ativan so I’ll take some for my anxiety

not to scare you...I went for a mammogram and ultrasound due to a small dumpling/indentation in the 4oclock position in 2016. Nothing showed up. The indent was Only visible in certain positions/lighting. Dr brushed it off as normal changes and thickening of tissue due to growing older (I’m 31). The dimple grew to a 2inch indentation and my nipple started to turn in and was visible in any position so I had it checked again (2 years later) and was diagnosed with IDC 3 weeks ago. Be persistent and if you think something is wrong keep going back!

Same here mine was an indent on the bottom curve of my breast like someone poked their thumb in a bundle of stretch marks which considering I lost and gained weight rapidly two years ago it could actually be a bundle of stretch marks.
Only symptom I can find so far no others I can find. Can only see it with my arm raised high.while looking naked in a mirror standing sideways something I haven't done in years until recently.then it's really obvious.still can't feel the lump either cause it was 2 cm in apparently
Now I'm waiting for the phone call.cause radiologist said it was very ,very concerning at the biopsy.
But i was also told before the biopsy any lump that pulls at tissue is going to leave a sign like an indent even a benign one so wait and see what they say at the ultrasound.
its the ultrasound where you will find out if you need to worry and even then many get "I don't think it's cancerous but better to Biopsy just to be safe" response.so don't panic until they leave off the first part of that sentence like they did for me.I should have asked the first time what she meant by what she said. it would have helped me prepare for what I heard at the biopsy. That mentally and emotionally traumatized me.
Don't be afraid to ask questions, no question is stupid when it comes to your body and have them explain things. It could just be your breasts and body changing as you get older
It might be a lump but doesn't necessarily mean the bad kind. Well it's bad it's there but not bad in a cancer way.
Best wishes for a clear ultrasound.with nothing to worry about.

I just got word today about my ultrasound. No cysts and no hard masses. I’m very happy. I’m going to follow up in a few months. Thank you for all of the reply’s.

What did you end up finding out?
-
I found out today that the ultrasound didn’t show anything. I plan to follow up in a few months. It’s so important to stay on top of it

This thread is scaring me half to death. I found an indentation on my outer left breast but feel no lump neither did my doctor. (I'm only 20) I had an ultrasound and begged for an MRI both cam back ok, the only family history is a single aunt who had IDC. But @Each_day_28 just brought all my anxiety back.
It also doesn't help that I recently received another MRI approval letter only 1 month 1/2 after my original MRI. And keep receiving phone calls from an imaging facility to schedule my appointment. I called the hospital and they say they don't have any record of it and to disregard it but idk. I emailed my doctor and she said and I quote "the results from your previous MRI came back clear and show no signs of any cancer, I would like to have a TAV to set up an action plan to keep track of this." This gave me no clear answer about the new MRI request but im assuming shes implying its not needed. I keep calling to ask for answered but they keep shooting me down.
Part of me wants to let it go and forget about this all but the other part feels like I have to be annoying and beg for things to be done. The thing is thinking about all this gives me extreme anxiety to the point where I'm crying all day everyday. I left this website for a while which definitely helped with my anxiety, I don't know if it's a good thing to hang around here to long(at least for me).
Sorry for the rant and hope everything says the same and nothing pops up for you.

Lucky for you, Giselle, you're 20. Your risk of breast cancer is extremely low, around 0.05%. Not zero, of course, but you have about a 99% chance that this is ANYTHING other than cancer. And there are plenty of benign things that are more common in young breasts. At age 20 your breasts haven't even stopped growing yet.
Its always good to have breast changes evaluated. You have had two very accurate tests which showed no sign of cancer. If you had a 99% chance of winning the lottery, you'd be jumping for joy.
