5mm brain leison

Options

They discovered a small brain leison on my mri, they cant confirm or rule out cancer. So I'm sitting in here in limbo. Has anyone had a brain leison that turned out to be nothing?

I'm so scared, I see my two tiny people and keep bursting out in tears on all the moments that are going to happen that I may not be there for.

Sorry, I don’t have that experience, my lesions 5 under 6mm in October and 5 more under 4mm in April are mets. While I have no alternatives to share, I will say that small, few mets can be treated very easily with little to no SE’s. It’s scary but doable. There’s a brain mets sisters thread here, if you even need us 🙂

Yes, they recently found a benign tumor on my brain. I am still in treatment, Stage 2 ER, PR HER2 positive. I have two more H&P's left. On May 11 I was having pain down my left arm and jaw. I went to the ER because I thought I was having a heart attack. Herceptin can cause heart trouble. They ruled that out, then they thought maybe I had a blood clot due to Tamoxifen, they ruled that out and said maybe my cancer had spread. They then did a chest X-ray and a CT Scan of my brain. They found a small tumor. I then made an appointment to see a neuro oncologist. Took me 7 weeks to get an appointment but found out it is a small meningioma in the front part of my brain with some calcification. The worst part was the waiting.

Good luck, I hope it is nothing. Keep us updated.

Thank you for your response. When you were diagnosed, how did you receive the official word. My medical oncologist couldn't really give me anything basically just said Rescan in two months and forward the mri to the radiation department.

The trip to the ER was on May 11th, the radiologist on staff that evening found the brain tumor and sent the results to my oncologist. I had an MRI done a few weeks later and those results also went to my Oncologist. He wanted me to see an Neuro Oncologist so I went to Yale New Haven. Took about 7 weeks to get in to see her. My appointment was on July 6th. She said it was not cancer and that all she does is read scans all day and this was definitely benign. I do have to rescan in 6-8 weeks and make another appointment with her because she does want to keep an eye on it.
