Biopsy Report vs Surgical Pathology Report

    Hello. I am currently in the "waiting for results" zone. I found a tiny lump through sbe and was diagnosed birads 4b after ultrasound and mammo. I'm writing because I am confused by my online chart. I had my biopsy done yesterday morning. They told me 2-3 business days and the online chart had a pending date for "BC US Breast Biopsy" of 7/14 since yesterday. So that makes sense. However, all of the sudden another pending report came up. This time it said "Surgical Pathology" and that date is pending for two weeks. 7/27. My doctor told me that I would definitely know the results by Monday or Tuesday so I am unsure what this new pending date is....and I am wondering if the biopsy report and surgical pathology report are the same thing or different.

    I thought surgical pathology would be on the specimen submitted after you have surgery to remove the tumor.

    This is why I feel some confusion. I am not sure why I suddenly have a Surgical Pathology report pending....
