Possible Pagets

Saw the surgeon today for consult.She took one look & said probable pagets.We did biospy on the spot & ordered mri.Will know in a week.If it spread i will have lumpectomy.& radiation.I am in shock ! Thanks for listening !

Hi Nati -

Try not to panic! The unknown is for sure the worse part. I was in a similar situation last Oct and the biopsy is the only way to diagnose Pagets so that's great your surgeon was so proactive. I was thankful my doctor also ordered an MRI as that was the only thing that caught the underlying DCIS. Mammogram and ultra sound didn't pick up a thing. I had a BMX the last week of November with direct to implant and there are more days than not that I don't think about breast cancer at all. You may find that this is simply a nasty case of eczema but if it's not know that a lot of the time everything turns out great and that there a lot of options out there!

Thank you for your kind words ! The surgeon said she was fairly sure it was pagets.I will be getting an mri soon.I have been feeling buring an itching in this breast but I am hoping it is fine ! I fine out by phone this monday.Hoping for the best.Thank you again !

Nati - Sending vibes it's JUST eczema and that call on Monday is a happy one! I was diagnosed with Paget's in March, actually went to the surgeon because of a harmless cyst on the left side and by pure luck pointed out the tiny little itchy spot on the right side to her. The waiting was the worst as MBPooch said!

Thank you so much Kelligirl5 ! I am hoping the same thing.although I must say this does have me abit upset.The surgeon seemed so sure it was Pagets but I believe docs can be wrong ! Wishing you the very best !
