Who is still getting zapped 33 times?

I've been trying to push the calendar on getting this all behind me, talked to the coordinator at my RO's office today, and was surprised to hear I'm scheduled for 33 treatments. I assumed it'd be 20 (which is what I had last time), but she said they're still about 50/50 on patients getting 20 vs. 33. I know I have a different dx from last time, but I really thought most of us were only getting 20.

So--who did/is/will get 33 and what is your dx? (I won't meet face-to-face with my RO until August 9th and thought I'd take a quick poll here. TIA!) (Okay and I'm a little ticked because I had *just* scheduled a vacation for end of September that I'm now having to move to end of October. I am not a happy camper.)

25...to match my age. (No, not in dog years!!)

    Stinks it’s interrupting your vakay

Well poop. I guess the Canadian Protocol doesn't cover everybody. Stupid of me to schedule the vacation before I'd actually spoken with my RO's office but it's all fine. Instead of an end-of-September weekend away it'll be an end-of-October weekend away which just happens to be over my birthday. Plus it'll be cooler then plus I might have some hair!! (And yes I am a bit pissy because it's a little more expensive in October but I'll get over that.)

Ingerp, if it’s only a weekend, wouldn’t it just be a matter of scheduling on that particular week? Would one day skipped but made up for on the end make a big difference? My team ran 24/7 so I could have gone the following Saturday. Is that possible

Egads--I'm over my hissy fit. We'll be leaving early on a Friday; returning Monday evening, so would miss two days. (My place *occasionally* does Sat appts but usually only if they have to.) In a lot of ways the later date works better (and I am a delayed gratification kind of gal)--I was mostly irked because it's a big more expensive in late October. (And just so I don't keep sounding cryptic, I'm making hubs go to Disney World. I took my kids one at a time when they were younger because it is r-e-a-l-l-y not his kind of thing, but we're going and dammit he will enjoy himself.) (And they did say if a better deal pops up in the interim, I can get the lower price. That place is so dang expensive!!)

Disney is outrageously priced. I've never been but a coworker once relayed how much he paid for a family of four, even after attending one of those time share seminars for free tickets (I think it was free entrance fee), anyway, he said it was SUCH A BLAST, but he'd be working 5 extra years of his life to pay for it. Oh hell yeah the DH better enjoy, I mean I know it's not some peoples thing, but it's Disney..sheesh Ingerp's hubs..get with the program already!! :))))

Crossing my fingers you get a better deal! I'm already anticipating the pics you post.....all that hair blowing in the breeze!

But a plus it may not be quite SO STINKING HOT in October!!

    I did 28+5 boosts.

Spookiesmom--yes, plus it'll be all decorated for Halloween then (all right maybe I *have* taken myself there once or twice around my bday--ANYBODY WANNA SAY ANYTHING???). DH will be a trooper--I'm just hoping I don't detect too many eyerolls when he thinks I'm not looking. And I do know the place well enough to know how to make it a fairly adult trip. Big scary rollercoaster? No thanks. Another Dole whip with rum? *Hell* yaz. . .

I find it interesting how it seems to be so different from location to location.  You would think it would be all the same.  I only had 15 treatments.

Californiateri--that's why I was a little surprised. I know my location does do the 20 protocol, but apparently not for my dx.

I had 28 sessions. And love WDW and go often. Had to cancel last year’s trip due to active treatments. But going to make a trip this fall.

Ingerp- just learned yesterday there is a local place that has Dole Whip. Tried to go yesterday but that plan didn’t work out. Maybe later this week

During October for Food and Wine, there is usually a Dole Whip with white chocolate Godiva which is yummy

I just got my tatts today. My surgeon said I would have 25 +5 boosts as one of his margins was close. But I'm getting 16 and my boosts will be given at the same time. 💃🏽.

He told me they had just completed a study on doing the boosts along with the regular treatment and the results weren't in yet. He repeated that several times but I figured there's no double blind with radiation. You have to use it and account for it all. And if he weren't confident he wouldn't have mentioned it. So that's what I'm doing.

We are meeting our daughter in Rome for 2 weeks in October so I'll have a month to recover. 🤞that it's long enough. However we rented a VRBO apartment and if I need a lazy day so be it.

I was told today that treatment is not based on tumor but on body size and that I have a small body therefore shorter treatment. I'm also in Canada. And I'm 30-40 lbs overweight. I told her this was the first time I had been told I have a small body! Everything is relative. 🤔

No info re diet, green tea, vitamins etc. No particular recc re lotions, just to moisturize constantly. None within 1 hour of treatment.

    I start August 1.

We booked before diagnosis, in order to coordinate everyone’s schedules. Was concerned when I thought I was having 30 treatments. Maybe I’ll sleep on the flight, something I rarely do!

I had 20 plus 5 boosters. I didn't have chemo so I'm sure that is why more than 20. I'm on accelerated rads...actually was. I finished last Friday. Feeling very very fatigued and red and sore. The skin under my arm is peeling pretty badly. I've switched to an aloe based lotion from the aquifer since I've ended treatment.
