Brand-name Arimidex is unavailabe due to change of manufacturer

Options

When I tried to refill my monthly Arimidex prescription through Arimidex Direct (run by Eagle Pharmacy) last week, I learned there is absolutely no supply because AstraZeneca, the original manufacturer, has stopped making it. Is anyone else facing this problem? Evidently a U.S. manufacturer (ANI, I believe) is supposed to start manufacturing Arimidex, but I can't get information on when will be available.

This is the Arimidex brand name site that has been licensed to ANI for direct to patient supply. Just wanted to post it in case you have not yet seen it, and for others who may be interested. It appears as though that you can enroll now and receive the meds now.

Thanks, SpecialK. It seems that Eagle Pharmacy is still handling the prescriptions, but I'll call ANI directly to get more info.

MStein - DId you use automatic renewal? I received my 3 month supply in the mail just a week ago and had no idea that there was a transition from AstraZeneca to Ani. Thank you for your post. Please let us know what you find out. I hope it's an easy fix.

Toomuch -- I signed up for automatic renewal, but for me, it hasn't worked automatically at all. I'm going to switch from a 1-month supply to a 3-month supply to avoid the hassle every month. Today I called ANI, where I got no information and was simply referred to Eagle. Now Eagle says they expect a new supply this week and will mail mine by overnight mail at no charge. We'll see if that happens.
