Does mri always mean breast cancer?

Hello everyone

I'm worry right now, from originally the doctor only order mammogram, ultrasound, and biospy. Previously they only find one that is suspicious. Now they ordered mri after finding a mass under my armpit that have never been found from my previous test. And the doctor says thing like "I'm supposed to be off tomorrow but I will come back just for you to test because I am concerned"

When doctors ordered mri, does it mean that they pretty much confirmed it is a cancer?

My MRI was to to clarify some things in my other breast. It is a pretty common procedure and will give them a better image. Many times the doctor wants to be thorough. Try not to worry. It sounds like the doctor is good and caring. Praying for you. 🤗

kb, no, it does not mean you probably have cancer. I had an MRI years ago for a lump that was benign. An MRI is another tool that may pick up something that a mammo or U/S can't see. It's hard to not worry, but the Dr's are doing what they need to do to find out what's going on. If you are inclined, you can always get a copy of your mammo and U/S reports. Best wishes!
