29 and scared
good afternoon everyone
I'm 29yo, I'm undiagnosed but suffer from anxiety and depression and my mind never stops. For a little while now I've been feeling some on and off pains on my breast, beginning of the week I started feeling a little itchy on both breast, nothing severe just on and off and would bounce from one to the other so i googled and was scared of pagets ot ibc. So i went to my pcp and he did an exam and said he found nothing but would put papers si that I could get an ultrasound not a mammogram due to my age. So yesterday I went to get my ultrasound and the tech stayed a while on my right breast and not very long at all on my left. I saw her taking some measurements on the right side on some blackish looking circles/ovals on my right breast. Is this normal, to not just take pictures but to take measurements and stay on one breast more then the other. She wouldn't tell me a thing, bad or good she said she couldn't say. I am now mortified, she said if it's bad they would call but it's also 4th of July so they dont even work today. My mind wont stop

It sounds like a pretty normal ultrasound. Round circular things are good--they usually indicate benign conditions. As you may know, IBC is rare, generally seen in women over 60. The hallmark of IBC is that it worsens rapidly, over hours and days. It does not stay the same or get better, ever. Its a pretty dramatic condition. So far, nothing in your post leads me to believe you have IBC.

thank you so much for responding. The itching is gone and I dont think its ibc anymore either but I'm just afraid. Are measurements normal in an ultrasound, what could they be measuring
-
Yes, measurements are normal. The measure anything that shows up. It doesnt mean they think you have cancer. They measure benign things, too.

these are my results, so I need biopsy
- Findings: oblong shaped well circumcised hypocchoic solid mass immediately deep to the right nipple measuring 1.2x0.6x0.9cm .the ultrasound characteristics suggesting benign right breast fibrodenomaimpression: 1.2. Cm well circumcised solid mass immediately deep to the right nipple suggesting a benign fibrodenoma.unremarkable left breast. Ultrasound. Benign nature is further suggested by the demographic of the patient.
Birads-3: possibly benign findings. Short term interval follow up suggested.Reccommendation: follow up on physical examination repeat right breast ultrasound in six months time

Hi Byron! Have you done any research on the effects of a cancer scare on the human psyche? Or the effects of presenting an absurd acidity correlation to a person in need of support and REAL answers. No? Thought so. Glaringly obvious. If you're indeed sincere, could you please stop posting this message into threads like this one, and reserve it for the Holistic thread? Thank you.
Yakqui your report would indicate benign findings (as Mustlovepoodles stated). Keep us posted please, and try your best to remain calm. Post here as often as you need.

Hi there! I completely understand your anxiety. Anxiety and depression run in my family as well-- while I'm not personally affected, my mom and sister are and I will be thinking of you, I know it's tough. I'm also 29 and waiting for biopsy results-- I've never had a mass found/felt during an exam before so this is all new to me and feels very scary. But, my ultrasound results seem similar to yours (I received BIRAD 4) and the doctor said it should be all okay yesterday at my appointment. I would do your best not to worry (advice others are telling me!). Hope you hang in there and am sending you warm wishes! BI RAD 3 from what I've been reading is generally on the benign side of things, if that is any comfort!

thank you for ur kind words. Having a very hard time keeping calm. I will be thinking of you 2 and hoping and praying we get good definitive results
-
should I get a biopsy. I dont have insurance so that's another stressor
-
Yaquio89, they don't think you need a biopsy because the areas clearly appear benign. Just go for your six month follow up so they can verify stability.
-
I agree. There is nothing in your report that screams cancer. In fact, the masses have the distinct appearance of fibroademas, certainly aggravating, but benign . The definition of BIRADs3 is that the target areas appear benign, and imaging should be repeated in 6 months to make sure nothing has changed. If they thought there was even a 3% chance that this would be malignant they'd be hustling you up for a biopsy so fast it would make your head spin.
So, now, enjoy your good news this weekend!

thank you all for your kind words. I met with the breast surgeon today and after talking everything over I think that for my mental health and peace of mind, I will be removing the probable fibrodenoma. My surgery is on the 20th and I am scared but I could never live with the doubt
